On Windows platforms, insure that the PATH variable includes the javac.exe directory and that the latest version of the full java SDK is installed.  Install Java 3D in order to use the 3D display features.  Run Kmax in Demo mode and note the Machine ID in the 'Privileges' tab of the 'About Kmax' dialog.  Submit the Machine ID  via email to <support@sparrowcorp.com> to receive a password in order to run Kmax in modes other than demo mode.
