Kmax 10.1 (build 64, March 10, 2015)
To learn more about this release, read the ReadMe_KmaxUser For a demonstration of the Kmax Application, please visit our Demo page.
Kmax 10.1 is a previous release of the Kmax family of data acquisition and data analysis application software. It updates the Kmax environment to be compatible with the latest releases of the Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. Kmax 10.1 requires the Java JDK version 1.8 and a 64-bit operating system. Kmax 10.1 is the most advanced and most compatible version of the Kmax environment to date. If you are looking for a mature, full-featured, fully supported data acquisition environment, then Kmax 10.1 is for you. Current users who upgrade to version 10.1 will find new user interface features, a new default Java “Look and Feel” (Nimbus) and many improved toolsheet examples. Toolsheet designers will notice that the script toolbar is visible by default to make toolsheet methods easier to write and maintain. Many cross-platform “developer examples” are now included to enable programmers to extend the Kmax environment. These examples include the complete source code and project files for class extensions, Java and native drivers, runnable Kmax tools, and Kmax server examples. There are many additional changes “under the hood” that will make Kmax easier to use and toolsheets easier to maintain. In fact, since releasing version 9, Sparrow programmers have made over 4500 changes to the code base. Many of these changes have been made to bring Kmax, Kmax toolsheets, and Kmax extensions into compliance with the latest Java release (1.8). Other changes were necessary to insure that Kmax works with the latest 64-bit Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux OS versions. The drivers for the WCCUSB CAMAC controller have been modified to use the latest native USB libraries and the WCCUSB driver is now also available for Windows 7 computer systems. If you are a current Kmax user and are using a 64-bit OS on Linux, Windows or Mac and plan or have already upgraded to Java 1.7, then you should upgrade to Kmax 10.1. Read more…
